Values and Principles

Who we Are

The Canada Primary Care Research Consortium (CPCRC) is a Canada-wide consortium dedicated to strengthening primary care research across the country. We strive to be a home for all primary care research. Together, we are fostering innovation, advancing patient-centered care, and ensuring that research directly informs practice and policy—so that primary care in Canada continues to grow stronger and deliver better health outcomes for all.

We honour diverse experiences and knowledge systems, weaving together Indigenous ways of knowing with primary care methods. By practicing respect, kindness, and humility, we create a welcoming space where every partner feels valued and heard.

Our Commitments

People First

Patients, families, communities, and people with lived and living experience guide our work. We are committed to partnering with First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and diverse communities to ensure primary care research reflects real-world priorities and leads to meaningful improvements in care.

Equity in Action

We are committed to advancing equity through primary care research that addresses structural barriers, improves access, and supports better health outcomes. We work alongside communities to generate evidence that informs action and drives meaningful change.

Collaboration Across Canada

We foster trusted partnerships among researchers, clinicians, policy-makers, patients, communities, and funders across Canada. By sharing knowledge, resources, and expertise, we strengthen primary care research capacity and accelerate impact.

How CPCRC works

How CPCRC Works

CPCRC brings together the national platforms that power primary care research in Canada.

  • CPCRN connects research networks, clinicians, and communities across the country to support collaboration and learning
  • CPCSSN provides access to Canada’s largest primary care data infrastructure
  • CPCTN supports the design and delivery of clinical trials in real-world primary care settings

Together, they form a coordinated system that connects data, research, and practice—so evidence can move faster and have greater impact.
